BEYOND THE BENCH

☝️ START ONE HABIT TODAY
Set Yourself Up for a Better Tomorrow

The holidays are busy, and with the year winding down, it’s easy to think, “I’ll just wait for January.” But guess what? You don’t need to wait for the “perfect time” to improve yourself. Research from the Journal of Clinical Psychology found that people who start working on their goals right away are 42% more likely to succeed than those who wait for a specific date. Why? Because taking action creates momentum, builds confidence, and eliminates procrastination.

So, let’s keep it simple. With just a few weeks left in the year, we’ll focus on building one small habit to help you finish strong and set yourself up for success.

Why Start Small?

Big changes can feel overwhelming, especially during the holidays. Starting small makes it easier to stick with your goal, even on your busiest days. A small step takes less effort, but it still moves you forward—and that’s what matters. Every time you follow through, you’re building momentum and proving to yourself that you can do this. Small steps add up quickly, and before you know it, they create big results.

Focus on One Habit

You don’t need to fix everything at once. Instead, focus on just one habit that will make a difference for you. It could be as simple as drinking more water, moving your body for 10 minutes, or reflecting on something positive each day. Pick something that feels doable and meaningful. By narrowing your focus, you’re giving yourself the best chance to succeed.

Why This Works

When you focus on one simple habit, you’re more likely to stick with it because it’s manageable and not overwhelming. Success comes from consistency, not perfection, and sticking to one thing builds confidence. Plus, as you see yourself making progress, you’ll feel motivated to keep going—not just through the rest of this year but into the next.

Your Challenge

Here’s your challenge: pick one small habit to focus on for the rest of the year. Make it specific and easy to accomplish. For example:

  • “I’ll drink a glass of water every morning when I wake up.”

  • “I’ll walk for 10 minutes after dinner each night.”

  • “I’ll write down one thing I’m grateful for before bed.”

Start today. Write it down, set a reminder, or tell someone about your goal. Little by little, you’ll build momentum, and you’ll be proud of how you’re ending the year.

You’ve got this. Let’s finish strong!💪
